I Used To Be, But Now
by Alexis Arambula
I used to be oblivious
to everything I did wrong
But now I am older
I know the difference
between right and wrong
for better or worse.
I am like a tiger
because I am always watching out
for bad and good things.
I just wish that I could detect
the right path
to take in my life,
But everyone knows
that no one is an angel
so just like everyone else
I can only try
to fight for what is right
without a compass;
without knowing ...
like pinning the tail
on a donkey
wearing a blindfold.
